Xbox Live – Use dial up to login

Using Dial-up to log on to Xbox Live

This tutorial will help you out in connecting your PC’s 56k dial up modem connection with your Xbox 360 so that you can go to Xbox Live and take advantage of downloadable contents and dashboard updates and lots of things. You just require few things and you are good to go.
1. You need a pack of Windows which could be either XP or ME or Vista
2. One PC which could run Dial up connection
3. And last but not least an Xbox 360.

You will need to do the things in step by step manner so, first up is to connect your Xbox 360 with the computer via Ethernet cable. Then connect your Dial up connection by clicking twice on it once it starts dialling go to Start Menu and from there go to Control Panel. Once you reach Control Panel go to Network and Internet Connections, a wizard will open go through it by clicking the next button. While you are clicking next in between a screen will come choose “this computer connects directly to the internet”. The rest is just simple so keep on clicking next and if you wish to share things from your Xbox 360 to PC tick mark the File and Printer Sharing.
Once you have finished the Network Wizard restart your computer, this is all for the computer setup. Now the Xbox 360 setup.

For the Xbox 360 setup, go to the dashboard of your Xbox 360 from there go to System Blade. Choose the Network settings from the options and select the Test Xbox Live Connection.

After this your Xbox 360 will attempt to assign an IP address to itself via your computer and it will also attempt to scrutinize the DNS server information and also the Xbox Live and after that you are good to go.
