Blackjack is a very popular table game at both live casinos and online. It is fairly easy to learn and when played properly has a very small house edge. The rules are easy to learn. The player tries to beat the dealer and stay under 22 in card count at the same time. The card count is Aces are one or eleven, face cards are ten and all other cards are their face value. The game is all about getting as close to 21 as you can without going over and at the same time beating the dealer in count. The dealer must take a card if the value of their hand is sixteen or less or in the case of ace and six, they must take a card or more until they have seventeen or more or go over 21. The player can stand on any value of hand. Taking a hit means the player or dealer is taking a card.
Giving all players two cards including the dealer starts the game. The cards are all dealt face down except the dealer who has one of the cards dealt face up. If the dealer’s face card is six or less, the dealer will have to take a hit or more. If the player has more than sixteen in the two cards, the player will stand and not take a hit. If the count is less than seventeen and more than eleven, the player may play for the dealer to bust or take a hit. It will depend on the value of the dealer’s face card. If the dealer has a hit card showing, the player can stand and hope the dealer bust the hand. This means going over 21 in count. Most players will play for the dealer to bust when showing a break card.
If the player is dealt an ace and a face card or a ten, the player has a blackjack and a sure winner unless the dealer has one also. When the player wins with a blackjack, the payoff is 1.5 to 1. If both have blackjacks the hand is a tie. If the dealer has the only blackjack, the dealer wins all bets. If the dealer and any player have a blackjack those two hands tie. All other hands will lose. If the player has a hand that they feel they can draw to and win, the player can double their original bet. If they win, they will receive the new total as a payoff.
